Riiiiing!

Annoyed groans and the putrid smell of cheap perfume and fresh backpacks choked the high school hallway as teens scurried to and fro through the crowds in search of their classes. Incoherent chatter and screaming blasted not just the teacher's, but your eardrums as well. Sandwiched between two sweaty jocks, you slowly inched your way closer to your locker, refraining from strangling the captain of the football team's neck. Slowly and surely, you were jostled to the side and were violently slammed against the cold metal. A sharp pain shot up your side and you winced, rubbing the sore spot on your ribcage and mentally cursing the lock. What a great way to start off your first day in a new highschool. You turned on your phone to check the time and, to your horror, only had two minutes left to get your books and find your class. As the crowd started to dwindle, you spun your locker's combination as fast as you could.

"What?! It's jammed?!" You did your combination again but to no avail. You kicked the locker as hard as you could and entered your combo again.

Riiiiing!

Damn... I'm already late...
You sighed, looking up at the taunting slab of metal that was in between you and your books. You slammed the door dejectedly until you heard a long whistle from afar.

"Woah there!" You looked over, and at the very end of the hall, two handsome young men with hair as white as snow were ambling towards you. "you know, that scowl doesn't look good on that pretty face of yours, lady."

"Ex-... Excuse me?" You turned around but you were the only girl in the hall. You felt a presence before you and you spun back around, flinching at the close proximity of the two males. You hesitantly pointed to yourself. "are you talking to me?"

"Who else would I be talking to, Beautiful?" The man in the red uniform winked and bent down to your level, his shiny blue orbs taking your breath away. "I'm Dante by the way."

"D-Dante..." You slowly nodded and looked to the slightly taller man behind him. Unlike Dante, this man had a navy blue uniform and had been keeping a straight face thus far, a single word not leaving his lips. The air about him felt like you were in the presence of royalty, sending a shiver down your spine. He merely glanced at you with a pair of captivating aqua hues and scoffed, his eyes darting away to a wall.

"Do not waste your time on this girl. Come. We have to get to class."

"Hey, be nice Verg!" The man, 'Verg', merely rolled his eyes and took a deep breath. Dante turned to you with an apologetic smile. "sorry 'bout that. He can be a bit crabby. Believe it or not, he's my twin brother, Vergil."

It all made sense now. No wonder why they looked so much alike. Despite their looks though, their personalities are complete opposites. You hid your mild surprise with a kind smile and a nod. "Ah, that makes sense."

Dante pulled away. "So what's wrong?"

"What?"

"We saw you punch the locker just now."

"Oh. well," You turned to your metal nemesis. "it's jammed."

"A jammed locker, huh?" Dante crossed his arms and sighed, clearly deep in thought. Vergil on the other hand, looked like he just wanted to go.

"Dante, we don't have time for this. Come on."

"Now hang on Verg, we can't just leave her here," After a moment of silence, Dante's eyes lit up while Vergil's darkened. "hey man, let's do the ol' trick."

"'Ol' trick'?" You were genuinely concerned and you took a step back.

"Prepare to be amazed, lady." Dante sent you a flirtatious smirk before stepping back a bit, positioning himself for this 'ol' trick'. Vergil reluctantly stuck close to the side, well out of range of Dante but close enough to touch the locker.

"Ready Vergil?"

"On 3."

"1..."

"2..."

"3!" Matching the speed of light, Dante, more specifically his leg, flew to the locker and slammed the locker until it caved in just a little. The earshattering sound rang down the hall like a gunshot. While Dante pulled away, Vergil wasted no time in punching the top of the locker, creating another gunshot-like sound.

After the locker finished rattling, everything turned as still and silent as a library. So silent, in fact, you could hear each other's breathing. How in the world are the teachers allowing this to slip? Weren't they at least startled to hear such a noise? Dante turned to you with the same smirk.

"Put in your locker combo and open it."

You took a step to your locker, still rather dazed, and twisted the lock in the correct order. With a quiet click from within, your locker slowly swung open with a long creak. Before you were your books and binders, completely unharmed. You turned around, absolutely dumbfounded. "How in the world..."

"We know this school inside and out. Including the lockers." Vergil answered.

"I mean, we were kinda there when this school was being built." Dante shrugged nonchalantly.

"What do you mean you were 'kinda there'?" Your brows knitted together in confusion.

"Foolish girl. Have you not realized?" Vergil's eyes sharpened, making you squeak and instinctively hide behind Dante.

"Realize what?"

"We're the principal's sons." Dante added in, turning around to face you. You just chuckled and smiled, still processing what they just said. You said their words over and over again in your head until it finally started to sink in. Immediately, your face paled and a streak of horror crossed your face.

"Wait. You mean you're the Sparda twins?!" They nod. "I-I am so sorry! I didn't know! I'm still kinda new here, so-"

"Chill lady, relax. We're not too particular with formalities." Dante sent you a toothy but reassuring grin while Vergil's gaze softened just a little.

"Is that why the teachers didn't come out when you kicked the locker?"

"Yeah. They just got used to it after awhile," Dante laughed and reached inside, pulling out your books. "you needed these, right?"

"Yeah. Thanks a ton guys." Dante slipped the tower of books in your arms as a grateful beam adorned your lips. Turning on your heel, you did your best to wave a small goodbye before racing down the hall. Before you got too far though, Dante's voice boomed across the other side of the hall.

"Wait! What's your name?"

"(F/N)! I'm (F/N)!" You turned the last corner of the corridor, disappearing from the men's views.

"(F/N) huh...? Cute name," Dante elbowed Vergil's side teasingly. "you seemed kinda interested in her, Verg."

"Nonsense." Vergil sighed and looked away, staring at the spot you were standing in seconds ago.

"Uhhhh-huh. Yeah. Okay. You hardly glance at any of the girls in our school yet I saw you eyeing her from the corner of your eye."

"We have to get to class." Vergil readjusted his backpack and began walking to his class. Dante made an amused snort as he chased after his older brother.

"I didn't know you were a closet pervert bro."

"I am not."

"You were staring at her boobs."

"... Silence."

~*~

After that happened, you three have been the best of friends. You always stuck together, fitting like lost puzzle pieces that have finally come together. There were no such thing as secrets between you three. You knew the fate of their mother, who was killed by a gang led by their own uncle. You also knew of their true feelings. Dante, who was flirtatious and charming on the outside, actually felt empty and cold on the inside but still had a heart as warm as the sun. Vergil had a harder time expressing himself because of his pride and superiority complex, but he was an honorable man with admirable study habits.

You also, regrettably, knew of their more 'private' secrets. For example, you knew both of the Sparda twins received nudes from their female classmates regularly. Unlike Vergil, who only made a gagging sound in disgust and proceeded to delete the scandalous picture and block their numbers, Dante saved them for 'future use', as he put it. Regardless, you loved the death out of those two and couldn't wish for anything more.

"So Dante, did you ask that girl out to prom yet?" You asked, nibbling into your sandwich. Dante heaved a heavy sigh and shook his head.

"I can't. She was already asked out by another guy."

"Bummer."

"Uh-huh," Chomping on the bright red apple bitterly, Dante's eyes lit up. "do you want to go with me, (F/N)?"

Your cheeks grew as red as the apple and you stuttered a reply. "Ah, well-"

"-No."

All eyes turned to the sullen Vergil, who had been silently eating his salad for the past ten minutes. Dante's brows furrowed irritably.

"Oh come on. She didn't even finish before you butted in," Dante looked at you expectantly. "so? will you go?"

"I'd-" Before you could finish your words, Vergil stood up with a clatter and locked his cold digits around your waist.

"I'm sorry little brother, but she can't go with you," His grip tightened. "she's going with me."

The whole lunchroom was so silent, a pin dropping sounded like a fire alarm. No one dared to break the heavy tension between the two students as they both stared each other down, glaring daggers into each other until you wanted to explode. You cleared your throat, snapping your two friends out of their trance and resuming the flow of time. Dante blinked slowly, irritation evident in his eyes as he sighed.

"Fine. You win," He shooed you off, sloppily biting out of his apple. "go make out in the janitor's closet or somethin'."

Finally, everyone released a heavy breath they didn't know they were holding and continued their lunch. Vergil, with a victorious glint in his eyes, marched out of the lunchroom with you in tow.

"Vergil-!" You twisted down corridors and speed-walked through hallways you didn't even know existed as you tried to get the attention of your captor. Before long, you saw a large, deep mahogany door at the very end of an elaborate hallway. Without a moment to spare, Vergil, along with you, scurried to the other side of the hall. Approaching the door, his fingers loosened around your wrist, rather reluctantly you noted, and rested on the brass door handle.

"Vergil, what is this place? Where are we going? And what did you mean earlier? Did you actually-"

"Silence." With a heave and a mighty push, Vergil creaked the door open just enough for your bodies to slip out of the crack. He was the first to go out and you followed him shortly afterwards.

The blinding rays of light whitened your vision as your senses were greeted with a cool, pleasant breeze and the sweet aroma of flowers. You could hear a steady rush of flowing water nearby, but you couldn't tell. Birds chirped and squirrels squeaked as you were blindly led by the hand to some place else. The sun itself disappeared behind a cloak of various reds and oranges, only beams of yellow filtering through the holes. The leaves rustled in the wind, as if welcoming their unexpected visitors with jubilant glee. After what felt like an eternity, your eyes finally adjusted to the bright autumn sun.

Vergil's right hand was tangled securely in yours as his left hand did all sorts of stuff. From fixing his hair to smoothening out his uniform, you could see a noticeable rush of color flooding his cheeks.

"Where are we..." You took a look at the almost surreal surrounding you've found yourself in. The light green grass with streaks of brown fluttered with the constant breeze that was circulating in the garden. Walls as white as snow and with the most intricate patterns you have ever seen fenced the perimeter, enclosing this little space of nature from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. A fountain of Cupid shooting his arrows was off to the side, where birds happily bathed and flocked with each other to their heart's content. A stone bench was also nearby, followed by a beautiful crossbreed of some exotic flower not common in this region. Leaves of a beautiful yellow-orange shade detached from the branch and fluttered to the ground in a graceful and charming dance before being whisked away by the passing wind. This place had a certain air to it that you didn't know how to describe. The garden was the prettiest you've ever seen, ripped almost straight out of a fairytale.

"(F/N)."

You snapped out of your dreamlike state and recentered your focus on Vergil.

"I-I'm sorry Vergil, this place just looks so beautiful, I guess I just lost myself in it." You laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of your neck. He shook his head and sighed, looking away.

"... My mother loved this place."

"I can see why. It's like it came right out of a fairytale."

He gulped, quietly remembering his mother's words before she left.

"Vergil, when you meet your special someone, bring them here."

"But Mommy, how will I know they're the one for me?"

An angelic chortle slipped out of her lips as she smiled to her son. "Well, sometimes you can just tell. Your heart would race whenever you're with them, and you'd always want to be by their side. When you find a girl that sends your heart soaring, bring her here."

"So does that mean I can bring you here anytime Mommy?"

A laugh. "No no... You'll know when the time comes."

~*~

"Vergil?" You waved your hand in your friend's dazed face. "are you okay? Vergil?"

"Hm?" Vergil blinked rapidly and he took a leap back, recomposing himself.

"You just kinda... blanked out there. What's up?"

"... (F/N), do you like anyone right now?"

"W-What?" Your heart stopped beating for a second before it exploded into a burst of speed. "well, yeah, I guess..."

Vergil's eyes darkened slightly. changing the carefree atmosphere into a rather stiff and suffocating one.

"I see."

"Y-Yeah," You coughed. "what about you?"

"What?"

"Any girl catch your eye?" You looked away, clearly embarrassed. "or guy, if you swing that way."

He did his best to ignore your last remark. "Yes. It seems a girl has somehow wormed her way into my heart and thoughts."

"Ah... I see." Your jaw clenched until it ached as much as your heart. Your chest felt an enormous amount of pressure, making breathing an almost impossible task. The truth was, you've really liked Vergil for a long time. You took Dante's teasing and flirting as friendly banter, but nothing more. On the other hand, you were really pressed on trying to start a serious and steady relationship with the colder twin, but it seemed luck was never on your side. He was just never interested in you. You'd count yourself lucky when he'd just shoot a passing glance at you. In fact, this is the longest he's ever spoken to you. Like, ever.

"How interesting. She was nothing but a pest to me when I first met her," He chuckled nonchalantly. "but because of her, I now know what it feels like to... love. I never thought I was capable of doing that."

"You should thank her then," You laughed out, ignoring the uncomfortable tightening in your chest. "she did teach you how to love after all."

"Perhaps. But a mere thank-you is not enough."

"It's something at least," You turned on your heels and took a shaky breath. "we have to get to class now. Let's go."

"Wait," He grabbed your wrist, his nails digging into your flesh. With a sharp yank, you were pressed right against his vanilla-scented chest, arms encircling your torso and waist. "I haven't said 'thank you' yet."

"'Thank'... 'thank you'?" Those words hardly left your lips before you were spun around.

Vergil's blushing face was in your complete view, his face framed perfectly by the sun's gentle beams. His mouth straightened into a thin line, and you could feel his heart thumping against his chest. "Thank you."

"You... You mean you-"

"(F/N), you know I'm not like Dante. I'm not a smooth talker like him," He looked away. "but I love you. Will you be mine, and go to prom with me?"

Everything froze. You swore the wind ceased blowing and the birds stopped chirping. Your brain flipped his words inside and out, trying to detect a lie or a clue that this was some sort of a cruel practical joke plotted by the brothers. But no matter how you looked at it, there was no such things. His words were raw emotions. Unfiltered emotions coming straight out of the depths of his heart. Tears leaked out of the corners of your eyes as you nodded, burying your face in his chest.

"Yes! I'll be yours! I'll go to prom with you!"

"Really...?!" Behind his stoic face, it failed to mask the excitement and jubilee in his voice. You pulled away to look at him and furiously nodded your head.

"Yes!" For a moment, you were the happiest person alive. You could barely control your actions as a newfound boldness shot through your veins. You got on your tip toes and pressed a short but loving kiss to his cheek. "I love you, Vergil!"

Vergil's cheeks exploded into a bright red autumn leaf. He cleared his throat and looked away shyly, making you laugh and snuggle in his arms.

"I never knew a simple peck on the cheek could get you so flustered." You mused, combing your digits through his soft white hair.

"You're so innocent," He pressed a long kiss against your forehead, sending your heart aflutter. "I look forward to the day I get to take it away in bed."

"What was that Vergil?"

"Nothing."

~*~ Several weeks later... ~*~

Prom night- 7:00 PM

You twirled around in your (F/C) prom dress, checking over yourself for the umpteenth time. You smoothened out every wrinkle and crease visible to the human eye and also brushed a comb from the roots in your scalp all the way to the very tips of your shiny (H/C) hair. You smacked and puckered your cherry red lips while retouching your blush and mascara. You got up again and looked at yourself, your heart running a mile a minute as you slipped on a few accessories, including a necklace embedded with a (Birthstone), a bracelet and a ring. You bobbed your earrings with your index finger, anxiously waiting for the doorbell to ring. Seconds felt like minutes and minutes felt like hours. At one point, you even questioned if he would come for you, resulting in swift self-reprimandation.

After what felt like centuries, the long awaited doorbell's chimes rang through the halls of your house like heavenly music. Triple checking everything one last time, you swung the door open and paused, hearing the hushed voices of your boyfriend and father.

"Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. (L/N). It's wonderful to finally meet you." You heard your mother squeal in delight and your father's guttural grunt.

"Sit down." Your father instructed.

"Yes sir."

You heard your mother's hurried feet up the staircase and she stopped, seeing you halfway out of your room. She beckoned you other with frantic hand motions. "Come here, come here! Your boyfriend's here!"

"I know Mom, calm down..." You laughed as she took hold of your hand, squeezing it.

"I've looked forward to this day ever since you started highschool," She sniffled, poorly masking the tears slipping out of her eyes. "Have fun, okay dear? Oh! The camera!"

Before you could say anything else, your mother disappeared behind the bedroom door, but you could hear her desperately fishing through piles of her possessions in search of a camera.

"Vergil, was it?"

"Yes sir."

"Take care of our little girl, alright? If something happens to her, I'll see to it that you'll pay dearly for it." Your father spat out, his tone as cold as ice. You've had your fights with your dad before, but you've never heard so much venom in his voice before.

"Don't worry, sir. I'll take good care of her."

"Good. ...You have my permission and blessing to date her."

"Thank you sir."

You decided now would be the best time to have your grand entrance, clearing your throat and running your hand through your hair, you rested your left hand on the staircase railing as you took a step down. "I'm ready."

You heard some clatter as both men stood to their feet. the tuxedo-clad Vergil stood in front of the staircase, your dad beside him, to greet you, but his stoic eyes widened to the size of dinner plates. His lips gaped open slightly as you felt his eyes wander your body, particularly your accentuated curves and behind. His throat bobbed up and down and you could see beads of perspiration forming on his silvery brow.

He didn't know if it was just the lighting or the dress, but you looked different than usual. More refined. More mature. More alluring too. Your dress was not too long to the point where you're tripping on it, nor is it too short where it can basically pass off as your underwear. It was perfect. There was also a rather intoxicating flair to it too, since there was a slit showing the world your slender legs running from your lower thigh and its fitting form hugged your natural curves in the sexiest ways.

While you two were in your own little world, your dad looked at the absolutely smitten Vergil and your equally smitten self and smiled, knowing his baby girl was in good hands. He enveloped you in his arms and squeezed you tight.

"I can't believe my baby is already grown up..."

"D-Don't cry, Dad..." You awkwardly patted your dad, who was trembling with tears. Vergil only chuckled behind him as your mother tripped down the stairs, an aged polaroid in hand.

"I found it! I found-! (Dad's Name)? What's wrong sweetheart? Why are you crying?"

"Nothing," He pulled away from you and kissed the side of your head. "I just can't believe our daughter's all grown up now."

"Well, she's not getting married hun, she's only going to prom," Your mother smiled, shoving you against Vergil. "are you two ready?"

"N-Not yet..."

"Please wait Mrs. (L/N)."

"1, 2, 3- Smile!"

Click!

"Ugh... Mom! We weren't ready!"

"Haha, sorry!" She snorted and showed the picture to your dad. "hey hey, look..."

"Mom!"

"Alright, alright, are you ready now?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Okay. 1, 2, 3! Say cheeeese!"

"Cheeeese..."

Click!

"Aw, you both look so cute in this!" She held the picture out to you, careful not to get her fingerprints all over the place.  Vergil's arm was wrapped around your waist while a serene and gentle smile his features. You didn't look too shabby in here either! A natural and relaxed grin took hold of your lips as your head rested on his shoulder.

"Let's take a few more pictures okay?"

"Mom, we to g-"

"-Actually," Vergil checked his watch. "we have some time."

"... Great. Thanks." You sent a sweet smile to the ever cool Vergil, but your eyes had pure murder in them.

"Oooh, perfect!" Your mother elbowed your father. "come on honey, take a pictue with them!"

"Sure." Your dad ambled over and situated himself right smack in the middle between either of you, much to your annoyance and silent protests.

"1, 2, 3, Smile!"

Click!

"You all look so nice! Can I get a picture with you two too?"

"Mom, we-"

"-Sure."

"Vergil..!"

"Oh, yay! Thanks Vergil!" She tossed her polaroid to your dad as he was walking back.

"Okay. 1, 2, 3."

Click!

Your mother pranced over to your dad and snatched the photo from his hand. "Oh, this looks so nice!"

"Okay, but we really have to go now."

"Alright, alright," She huffed, arranging the photos on the table. "have fun and be safe, okay?"

"K, bye Mom!"

"Bye Mr. and Mrs. (L/N). Thank you for everything."

Vergil led you out first before shutting the door hurriedly. He directed you to his sleek black car and ushered you in the passenger seat.

"I'm sorry about that," You sighed, your seatbelt clicking securely. "they can get pretty excited sometimes, especially my mom."

He shook his head. "I like your parents. They're just like you."

"Wait, what's that supposed to mean?!"

"Nothing," His smirk faded to a worried frown as he backed out of your driveway. "your father isn't too particularly fond of me."

"Him? Don't worry about it. He can be a little protective is all. He's a good man deep down." You assured with a small smile as he raced down the street quickly. Unconsciously, you flipped the radio on and turned it to your favorite station. Vergil didn't mind too much though as he was too focused on the road. You twiddled your thumbs and played with your seatbelt, mindlessly staring at the passing scenery flashing before your eyes. Suddenly, you heard tires screeching and a quiet gasp beside you before the whole world sent you flying. Vergil whipped his arm in front of you, stopping you from your whiplash.

"Hey!" Vergil slammed his hand against the wheel, sending a loud and ear shattering honk to the stupid driver in front of you.

"Bastard..." Vergil sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "are you alright?"

"I'm fine," You shakily sighed out. "what happened?"

"That idiot just cut me." Vergil hissed, shifting gears and merging to the next lane.

You giggled. "I've never seen you road-raged before."

"Good." He mumbled, smoke practically coming out of his ears. You did your best to ignore the murderous aura oozing out of the driver and you fidgeted in your seat, a little bit frightened of your boyfriend's temper. A few more minutes ticked by before your highschool building came into view. Your heart stared pacing faster than normal while your eyes lit up in glee. A half-smile broke out of Vergil's lips as he parked his car in the nearest parking spot.

He unbuckled his seatbelt and got out first, circling the front and coming to your side. He opened your door as you unbuckled your seatbelt.

"What a gentleman." You joked, stepping out of his car. The fresh evening air breathed a pleasant breeze against your skin. A light reddish-purple painted the sky like an artist's canvas, wisps of white here and there. If you looked closely enough, you could see the stars just barely twinkling behind the gorgeous sunset, a prelude to the beauty of night.

"Shall we go, my lady?" He half-chuckled as he offered his arm, in which you gladly took hold of while he led you to the highschool entrance.

A large and very elaborate 'PROM' sign was draped right above the entrance to the gym, balloons in your school's colors decorating the halls. There was a long, red carpet leading you deep inside the gym; off to the sides were photo shoots for the couples. You did a happy little hop and you pulled Vergil towards the cameraman.

"Come on Vergil! Let's go take our picture!"

Vergil allowed you to drag him in the small line that was quickly disappearing. In less than five minutes, it was already your turn.

"Next!" The photographer called out.

"Yay we're next!" You and Vergil stood in front of the wall, his arm snaking around your waist and pulling you closer. "is this good?"

"Perfect," The photographer got in front of his camera and adjusted his lens carefully. "say cheese!"

"Cheeeeeese!"

Click! ... Click! ... Click!

After several seconds, the photographer pulled away and motioned for you to come over. "Do these look okay?"

"Yes." Vergil hummed.

"They look good to me." You muttered, taking a closer look.

"Cool. I'll have these printed out for you when prom is over."

"Alright, thanks!" You both waved goodbye to the photographer and were quickly ushered in by a few teachers by the entrance.

The gym was loud. Like, loud. The upbeat music pounded your eardrums and you could hardly hear yourself think. Vergil kept his hand on your waist and as you passed by some nearby jocks, you heard a long wolf whistle that somehow overpowered the stereo.

"Lookin' hot (F/N)!"

"Damn, look at her legs..."

"Her ass looks pretty sexy from here too!"

Vergil's grip on your waist tightened until you were pretty sure he left crescent marks on your hip thanks to his fingernails. Quietly and calmly, Vergil's head whipped to the jocks as he pulled you closer.

"Oh shit man, that's the principal's kid!"

"We were hitting on his girl?!"

"Oh fuck, we're so dead..." The leader of the group awkwardly shuffled their feet out of the gym, disappearing for the rest of the night.

"You're just something else Verg." You chuckled, looking up at him.

"What?"

"You didn't even lay a finger on them and they ran away, scared shitless." Laughing, you pressed a happy kiss to the corners of his lips.

Vergil only pulled you closer, muttering something about you being 'too innocent' and 'getting those guys later'. As you waddled through the crowd of people, you saw a muscly arm by the food table waving at you.

"Is that... Dante?"

"Dante?" Vergil visibly stiffened while he tried to veer you away from the food table congested with students.

"Hey! Dante! We're over here!" You started waving your hands back. The hand disappeared but you could see a patch of white slowly making its way toward you. Vergil groaned, giving up on escaping. Before long, Dante shimmied his way out between two dancing couples. Dante wore simple dress pants and, unlike Vergil, his shirt was unbuttoned in the front, exposing his solid abs to the world.

"Heeey! Pretty cool party eh?" He looked around and gave a long whistle. "filled with babes, drinks, and food- what more can a party have?"

"Nothing. Let's go (F/N)." Vergil tugged you away from his little brother, hoping to avoid anymore contact with him for the rest of the night. He made it his goal to spend the rest of this night alone with you, free from other people's unwanted interactions.

"Aw, where you going big bro? I just wanted to talk to your lady here for a sec," Dante huddled closer to you, ignoring his brother's sharp glare. "so what's goin' on babe?"

"Nothing much. We just arrived actually." You smiled at your friend.

"Cool cool," Dante smirked as he leaned closer to you, his lips brushing the shell of your ear. "if you ever get bored of Vergil, you can always come over and play with me."

An enormous blush heated your cheeks and your heart rate skyrocketed. Despite his light tone, you could feel a sense of seriousness and authenticity in his words. Vergil just about lost it at this point and he grabbed your wrist with terrifying strength pulling you into the crowd.

"Vergil, what are you-"

"Silence."

"Vergil, answer me."

"Be quiet."

"Vergil!"

"I said be quiet!" Vergil stopped in the middle of a familiar hallway and spun around, the flames of hell burning deeply in his eyes. An inaudibly gasp left your lips and you took a step back, clearly taken aback. Vergil's intense gaze softened slightly but his grip on your wrist tightened.

"Vergil, what's wrong? Why are you acting this way?"

He bit his bottom lip and took deep breaths, loosening his grasp on you just enough for your poor wrist to wriggle free.

"Wait a minute..." That's when it all started coming together. "you're not actually jealous are you?"

"... And what if I am." Vergil growled, turning away.

"You? The almighty Vergil, jealous? I never knew you could get jealous Verg!"

"I have some humanity in me," He sighed, brushing his fingers through his hair. "come."

Before you could protest, Vergil took hold of your bruised wrist and led you to the garden where he confessed several weeks ago.

By now, night has fallen upon the town and in the sun's place stood the moon. Owls cooed and crickets chirped, adding to the dreamy atmosphere. The grass whispered and murmured under their breath whenever the wind blew through each individual blade. He led you under the somewhat barren tree, whose leaves are sprawled out on the grass. The slow music coming all the way from the other side of the building echoed down the halls and entered the peaceful garden as a ghostly whisper. Vergil cleared his throat and scratched the back of his neck.

"(F/N) (L/N), may you do me the honor and dance with me?"

With a slow nod, you wrapped your arms about his neck as his palms rested comfortably on your hips. "Of course."

Placidly, you both started swaying to the quiet hums of the song in the background, losing yourself in the moment. Vergil's bright blues bore deeply into your (E/C) ones while his thumbs massaged small circles into your sides. He cleared his throat and sighed dejectedly.

"I'm sorry." He whispered, looking away.

"For what?" You cradled his face and pulled him closer.

"For ruining your prom."

"What?" You pulled away slightly, shocked. "how in the world did you ruin prom?"

"Because of my childish temper and tantrum, I lugged you over to a secluded place when you could be having fun with your other friends."

You were filled to the brim with happiness at his words. "You care about my night that much?"

He nodded.

You paused suddenly, catching Vergil slightly off guard. "Vergil, you made my night."

"I... what?"

"Do you know how happy it makes a girl to hear that her boyfriend was so jealous, he just had to whisk her away before he lost his mind to jealousy?"

"No.."

"Very. I guarantee you." You stepped closer to Vergil until your breasts were pressed right up against his chest. He inhaled sharply, his heart beating faster by the second. He swore, you'd be the death of him someday. You both resumed the gentle swaying of your bodies like nothing happened, but unlike before, you felt more relaxed. There were simply no words to describe how happy you were, knowing that Vergil loved you so much to the point where he had to take you somewhere so he could have you all to himself. Even long after the song ended you two were still in each other's arms, dancing the night away, listening to the music in your hearts.

Without uttering another word, Vergil lowered his face to your level and tilted his head, slowly closing the gap between your lips. His lips melded into yours as your heart melted in the warmth of his quiet but undeniable love for you. Puffs of hot air blew out of his nostrils, tickling your cheeks. Your digits dug and tangled themselves in his scalp, matting his once tidy and sophisticated hair into Dante's.

He sucked on your bottom lip, your thoughts slowly turning into him. Your breathing turned heavy as the kiss grew steamier. Everything went by so quickly that before long, you found yourself pressed against the tree, hungrily seeking each other out. He occasionally left your lips to nibble and suck on the tender flesh of your neck, dotting the length of your neck with red bite marks and purple dots.

"Not so hard Vergil," You moaned out, instinctively hugging him closer. "it's going to leave a mark."

"Good." He hummed against your skin, sending pleasant vibrations throughout your body. His lips traveled up your neck, followed the frame of your jaw and stopped right at your earlobe.

"You're mine," He huskily breathed out before biting down on the flap of skin. "no one can tell you otherwise."
I start school tomorrow, kill me

yeah yeah, I know I'm starting late. I'm sure most people are already in their 3rd week of school or maybe their first month or so. Idk, we just start late I guess

I hope you've enjoyed this story as much as I did! It was a blast writing it for you all, and I do sincerely apologize for my absence. As a few of you may know, the last time I posted a story ( which was Sleepovers ), was the day my mom was going to have surgery. Since then, I've been juggling school prep and daily volleyball practice, along with just daily chores in life. My mom's doing fine now. She took a month off of work to recover and relax ( though she hardly did the latter ). She just came back from, I think, her first day since her break last night and she's pretty tired right now since she's trying to find a second full time job to work now.

ahhh, I really don't wanna go to school, but that's okay >~<

***DISCLAIMER*** I literally don't know shit about prom. I've never been to one, and my school doesn't support them. I'm writing this from the experience I've got from books and movies

That's all. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
