Black and White AU (Cheating!Levi x Reader) Pt.2

"I'm home, Mikasa!" You somehow opened the door to your best friend's house with nine grocery bags dangling on your trembling arms. 

"Where were you? It's almost 10!" Mikasa helped you with the overflowing plastic bags and placed them on the black marble counter.

"Sorry. I just finished work about 30 minutes ago, and there was traffic, and I wanted to buy some ingredients for dinner, and just... yeah." You sheepishly rub the back of your neck as you laugh tiredly while Mikasa sighs.

"Fine. How was work... Did he call?"  Mikasa mostly whispered the last question.

"Work was alright. I got promoted again," You announce triumphantly. "And no. Not at all. I don't know, it makes me kinda sad for some reason... like, I feel disappointment." You sigh dejectedly as Mikasa pets and strokes your back gingerly. It has been 4 years since you've last talked to him. Or seen him. You both help set up the table and quickly cook (Favorite Food). The two of you, as usual, ate in silence. But it was a comfortable silence. Sure, you both slipped a few perverted jokes and snickered endlessly but that was really it.

"I got the dishes. Go ahead and rest." Mikasa picks up the plates and utensils and dumps them all in the silver sink.

"C'mon, at least let me-"

~riiiing...~

Your cellphone lets out a sudden ring. You check your phone and you could not believe your eyes. Mikasa notices the quick change of atmosphere and looks intently at your phone.

'Levi'

The background was Levi and you smiling happily on your first date. You look at her helplessly. Her eyes show panic, which does not seem like her at all. She takes a slow, deep breath and answers your phone for you.

"Hello?" She subtly answers. She presses speaker and you could hear Levi's quiet sobs in the background.

"H-Hello? Is (F/N) there? I need to speak with her."

"I'm sorry, but you must have the wro-"

"Please."

She shakes her head and gives you a 'what-do-you-want-to-do' kind of look. You grip your phone tightly and choke out a reply.

"...What is it?" Your voice sounded much colder than you've meant for it to sound. But you didn't care. You wanted this bastard to go through hell. 

"(F/N)? God, I missed your voice... Where are you? Are you alright?"

"Why the fuck would you care? You never cared about me in the beginning." You stomp away from a concerned Mikasa and made your way up to your bedroom. You slam the door shut and lock it. You bellyflop on your bed as you listened intently to Levi's crying.

"I'm so sorry. Please forgive me."

"Are you fucking with me right now Levi? Are you fucking kidding me?"

"No! I love you. I'm so sorry I cheated on you. Please... These last 4 years have been fucking horrible for me." Levi breaks down again and you patiently wait for him to catch his breath.

"I didn't know what I was thinking back then. I still don't now. I don't know how I could have been so blind... I never told you this, but Petra was my first girlfriend." Your heart constricted and you felt a familiar pain spread through every fiber of your being.

"You told me I was your first. So you've been lying to me from the beginning?" You gritted your teeth while you barely held your tears.

"No, well, I mean... Look, it's complicated. We met in highschool, confessed on our last year, and we broke up cause she was moving somewhere else. Then a year later, I met you." He gave a bitter laugh and continued.

"You gave me something that Petra never gave me. You gave me unconditional love. You loved me even when I was a jerk towards you, you loved me whenever I would push you away, and you still loved me even though I'm just a shitty human being with no use in this world." Levi screamed through the phone. You listened to his ragged breathing while tears flowed from your face. You stifled a few whimpers and bit your lip.

"I am so sorry (F/N). Please... Come back. I just want you back here. I want to wake up every morning to your sleeping face, I want to hear you say 'Welcome home' in that cheery voice of yours after I come back from work, I want to hold you and make fucking love to you every night. I need you (F/N). I love you." Levi whispers the last phrase as he waits for your answer. Deep down, you still love him. You just want to jump into his arms and kiss him all over. But... what if it's all a lie? What if he's just saying that so he could have a maid in his house? What if he just wants your body and not your heart? What if he's going to strike back harder for leaving him for 4 years? Thought after thought torment you as you stumble in your words. 

"I'm sorry Levi. I need time. I'm... so afraid. I don't want to experience... the same trauma. I'm sorry. I need time." Your voice sounded strangled under the heavy pressure.

A long pause ensued.

"I understand. I will honor your choice, whether you decide to stay with me or not. It's getting really late. Goodnight (F/N). Sweet dreams and I love you." Without another word, Levi cuts the call. You stay motionless for a few moments and throw your phone against the wall. You cover your face with your hands and break down loudly. All the pent up sadness, fury, frustration- everything poured out at once. A solemn knock echoed in the room. Mikasa calls your name worriedly.

"Are you okay (F/N)? You... don't need to talk right now. I'll just let you rest. For the rest of the night. If you need someone to talk to, come by my room anytime. Goodnight (F/n)" She silently enters her room across from yours and closes her door. You crawl under your blankets and slowly stain your pillows with tears until sleep finally pulls you out of your suffering and confusion.
